- Find out what the requirements HRDC are to see if you are qualified
under their rules. If you need to contact HRSDC
click here for useful phone numbers, links to the nearest
Human Resource Centre and more detail on their requirements.
- If you satisfy HRDC's requirements, then the next step would be
to look for a nanny or caregiver (for an elderly person). Click here to see resumes of nannies
who are working in Singapre. Click on the thumbnail to see the resume
of the nanny or caregiver. Some (but not a whole lot) have experience
and/or training in caring for an elderly person as well as caring
for children.
- You might want to speak with your potential nanny. Send us an email
to arrange for a phone interview.
- When you have identified the nanny or caregiver of your choice,
download the "Family Profile/Job Offer" form,
fill it out and fax it to us at (65) 6732-9113.
- Meanwhile, you should seek the advice of your local Human Resources
office and apply for their approval to hire from Singapore.
- Please note however, that it will take more time to find a suitable
caregiver/companion to an elderly person who may need more than attention
with the necessary training or certified experience.
- How long it takes to obtain approval from HRDC probably varies
from one city to another, from one province to another. The time it
takes for nanny to get a visa from the Canadian High Commission in
Singapore varies too, but it can take as little as one month.
- The rest is pretty much automatic. If you satisfy the requirements
of HRDC, you will be advised accordingly. Just send us a copy of the
letter from HRDC advising you that your application is approved. Fax
this letter to us, and we take over from here. If all goes well, you
will have only 4-6 weeks more to wait.
